about us

In the heart of Rochester's ArtWalk district, The Bachelor Forum is located at 670 University Avenue. A major public monument to the LGBT liberation movement consisting of rainbow-colored gender symbols is just outside our door. Like all cities throughout New York state, Rochester prohibits smoking in bars and restaurants but allows it in outdoor spaces. We are open 7 days a week from 2 pm to 2 am, and are a 21 and over no attitudes bar.

History

The Bachelor Forum opened in 1973 on East Main Street in Rochester, New York. The bar moved in 1989 to its current location at 670 University Ave, in the heart of ArtWalk. The Bachelor Forum is Rochester's oldest gay owned and operated bar and is a landmark of the local gay community. We are proud to be a friendly, no-attitude bar and gathering place for the area's leather/levi and bear communities. We are the official home bar of the Rochester Rams M.C. and the Empire Bears fraternity.
